Please read the following prior to registering your player(s) for the upcoming baseball season:

Registration Dates: 2/1/24-2/21/26. Late registrations will not be allowed.

Season Dates: Mid April - Mid June.  Old Forge will have their own assessments - families do not need to report to the Boonville try outs.

Divisions of Play

  • T-Ball - For Ages 5-6 (Grades K&1) This will be 2 nights/week maximum(games & practices).  This is for 1st or 2nd-year players to work on skills like catching, throwing, and hitting.  We use a softer t-ball to learn safely.  This will be mainly practicing, with 3-4 fun games at North Street.  We plan a few travel games in Boonville.  All kids play in the field every inning with 6 infielders and the rest in the outfield.)

  • Minor B (Coach Pitch) - For Ages 6-8 (Grades 2&3 This will be 2 nights/week maximum.  There will be about 12 games for the season.  Once games start, we do not practice.  We typically play two games per week once practices are completed.  Coaches pitch the entire game and we play 3 innings with everyone getting to hit in the first inning.  After that, it is 3 outs.  We practice at North Street.  Our home field is North Street for 6 games and we travel 6 times to Boonville, West Leyden, or Forestport.  All kids play in the field every inning with 6 infielders and the rest in the outfield.)

  • Minor A (Kid Pitch) - For Ages 8-11 (Grades 3&4 - Intro to kids pitching to each other) This will be a 3 night/week maximum. There will be about 12 games for the season. Once games start, we do not practice unless we need to.  We typically play two games per week once practices are completed.  Coaches pitch some innings and players pitch some innings.  We stick to 3 outs per inning and players can strike out on 3 strikes.  We practice at North Street.  Our home field is North Street for 6 games and we travel 6 times to Boonville, West Leyden, or Forestport. There are 6 infielders and 4 outfielders. All kids still take turns batting even if they are not in the field that inning.

  • Majors - For ages 9-12 (Grades 5&6 - kids pitch entire game)  This will be a 3 night/week maximum.  This is where they play by full rules.  (Stealing is allowed, etc.) It is a competitive game and competes for positions. 1 practice & 2 games per week. We practice at North Street.  Our home field is North Street for 6 games and we travel 6 times to Boonville, Remsen, & Barneveld. There are 6 infielders and 3 outfielders.

Cost of Registration:

Please note that we have increased our registration prices due to costs of uniforms, umpires and equipment.  This is our first increase in 10 years.  It is an increase of $10 per player from previous years with a raffle fundraiser attached.

  • T-Ball & Minor B - $60 + $25 Raffle Tickets = $85.00

  • Minor A & Majors - $75 + $25 Raffle Tickets = $100.00

Discounts:

  • Sibling discount: $25.00 per extra family member.

  • Town of Forestport Tax Payer Discount: $65.00 per player whose parent pays Foresport taxes.  May require proof of payment of taxes to receive this discount.

  • Raffle - Each player will receive five - $5 dollar raffle tickets as part of registration. The tickets are already included in the price of registration.  A player sells these tickets and the parent / guardian keeps the money from tickets.  This will effectively lower all players registration price by $25.00.  Tickets will be distributed via mail based on the address used during sign up.  They will be distributed when registration closes.  Raffle drawing will be opening day and include a variety of prizes.  Prizes will be listed prior to distribution of tickets.

Scholarship Requests:

We are a part of Boonville Little League but all practices are in Old Forge.
Games for ages 7-12 involve travel but carpooling is always available.

We are always looking for help coaching.  Every team will need volunteer helpers!  Please reach out if you are interested!   No one needs much prior experience with baseball. I can find jobs for anyone willing to help.  Possibility of helping with equipment, scheduling, field maintenance, 1st/3rd base coaching. Just having a parent in the dugout reading the lineup is a huge help. I would love to have a parent volunteer to manage the field for us this year.  We will work as a program to get the field ready for the season. It would be a great help to have someone to rake and line the field before the home games.

I will be there to help anyone who is willing to coach.
